Open Call: March ’23 Social Justice Workshops
CALLING ALL SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS!
BEACON’S ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE CLUB IS HOLDING ITS ANNUAL SOCIAL JUSTICE WORKSHOPS ON MARCH 31, 2023!
In collaboration with NYU’s MLK Sponsors, Beacon’s student-led Environmental Justice Club is seeking parents and outside organizations to volunteer to present to Beacon students.
Are you passionate about social justice? Do you revel in generating deep discussion on social justice issues? Do you enjoy engaging young people in hands-on activities?
If this is you, please volunteer by Feb. 28 to be a facilitator!
On March 31st during A and B bands, Beacon’s Environmental Justice Club in collaboration with NYUs MLK Scholars will host the annual Social Justice Teach-In.
Workshops often cover themes (but are not limited to) LGBTQ, Black History Month, Women’s History Month and Earth Day / Climate Change. Click here for a list of workshops offered last year.
This is one of the ways Beacon honors Women’s History Month (and Black History Month and Pride Month and the Global Climate Strike) and educate Beacon community members about important issues and ideas that may not be included in the curriculum of their classes.
Please complete this form by Feb. 28, 2023 if you’d like to submit your workshop idea! https://forms.gle/yr9hEYVNRZqvBpNU8
