NYC Education Council elections
2023 is a NYC Education Council Election year.
The 32 Community Education Councils and 4 Citywide Education Councils make critical decisions regarding your child’s education.
If you have a child in PK-8 you are eligible to serve on a district council; if you have a child in high school you can serve on the citywide HS council. There are also councils for guardians of kids with IEPs, ELLs and District 75. New this year: going forward, every council will reserve a seat for a parent representative with a student in a District 75 school
The deadline for NYC public school parents to apply is Feb. 13, 2023.
