All members of the Beacon School community are invited to join the PTA’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Multimedia Club.
Expanding on our book club, this year we will also discuss podcasts and other types of content. Our monthly discussions will kick off in Jan. 2023. More details are below—and click here to find out about our monthly DEI Committee meetings, too.

This four-part series tells the story of a year inside a divided Brooklyn school trying to unite its community through sports. Tyler Brewster (of Peer Connect) will moderate our conversations. Date to be confirmed — Student-led social justice workshop for parents (on-site, at Beacon). This is a follow-up to the reflective work the DEI Multimedia Club has done around equity, inclusion and social justice issues, through the exploration of themes found in the Keeping Score podcast.
Also, the PTA is looking for parent volunteers to run in the June 2023 PTA/SLT Elections, including as Co-VPs of DEI. More information is here.
