Details: This Beacon Counseling webinar is designed to support teens and their parents to have supportive and constructive conversations about their gender identity and sexual orientation. It provides information to develop skills around supporting young people in our communities; to identify ways they can create supportive networks in their lives and sharpen critical thinking skills on the topic of acceptance, inclusion, and contributing to a safer world for all. The importance of establishing healthy relationships will also be discussed.
Speaker Bio: Gabriel Santos spent over 4 years as a community educator at the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence, where his focus was healthy relationship education and dating violence prevention. Now as a training and curriculum specialist, he brings not only his education background but all his knowledge on how we can advocate for a safer, more supportive world. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, he has seen how important it is to include everyone in conversations around allyship and aims to build people’s capacity to be more empathetic, safe and informed.
