6/20/23 Beacon PTA/SLT Election for 2023-24 School Year
Dear Beacon Parents & Guardians,
We’re near the end of the 2022-2023 school year and it’s time to start planning for next year, including electing parent representatives to the 2023-2024 Beacon School Leadership Team (SLT) and the Beacon PTA Executive Board!
The end-of-year elections for parent representatives to the 2023/24 School Leadership Team & the 2023/24 PTA Executive Board will now be held on:
TUESDAY JUNE 20, 2023 AT 6PM ON ZOOM
Zoom registration is required to join this meeting to participate in the 2023-2024 SLT/PTA elections — click on this link to register and receive the Zoom link.
(Note: This election was originally scheduled to take place during the June monthly meeting, which will still take place at 6pm on June 12, 2023.)
PTA candidates: Click here for more information on the PTA Executive Board roles. If you wish to run, you may be nominated by someone else for a position or you may nominate yourself “from the floor” during the meeting for a position. You may run as a single candidate or as a team/slate of two candidates. For Co-Presidents and Vice Presidents, a team/slate of three candidates is allowed.
SLT candidates: Immediately following the PTA election, there will be a vote for 5 seats allocated to parents and guardians on the 2023/24 School Leadership Team. Click here for more information.

Note: Up to three incoming 9th grade parents or guardians (Class of 2027) may run as PTA Executive Board members-at-large after the start of the 2023-24 school year.
SLT ELECTION ROLES
5 seats are open to election for parents/guardians whose students will be registered at Beacon for the 2023/24 academic year. (Other elected roles will be determined by student and teacher bodies.)
There will be an Election Information Session on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 6pm on Zoom to answer any questions or express interest in running for next year’s SLT or PTA Executive Board.
Once again, the election will take place on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 6pm via Zoom (click here to register and receive the Zoom link).
